Sediments in seabed

This map shows the textual distribution of the main surface sediment types and the consolidated continental fringe units. The texture classification includes three types of sediment: Gravel, sand and mud (fine sediment) and the affluent formations consolidated on the seabed without distinction of origin have been classified under the category ‘rocks’.
